The Trap

Synopsis

Away from preying eyes, a young unmarried couple retreat to the depth of a desolate run-down Egyptian seaside resort, to make love. The power dynamic between them is tested, when the girl reveals she wants their relationship to end. Directed by young Egyptian filmmaker Nada Riyadh, The Trap is a visual monologue about an entrapment and a concealment of emotions as the camera narrates the story of a woman’s relationship between her body and her domestic environment.

The Trap will be free to watch online for the duration of the festival.

Director Nada Riyadh will take part in a live online panel discussion on Monday 23 November.
