Roger

Synopsis

Legendary jazz musician, Roger Kosa, has been saving money since the end of the apartheid in the hope that he will finally be able to buy himself a piano. This short documentary, which is almost poetic in nature, juxtaposes footage of the unfulfillment that Roger experiences due to the mundanity of his working life with footage exhibiting the peace of mind he is able to find when sitting at the edge of a piano stool, hands dancing across the black and white keys.

Roger will be free to watch online for the duration of the festival.

Director Bernard Myburgh will take part in a live online panel discussion on Monday 23 November.
