Memory is a Weapon + Discussion

Drawing inspiration from the Adinkra symbol of the Sankofa bird, which means ‘reach back and get it’, this short film draws together Black female artists and activists from Scotland and across the world to reflect and reimagine new futures during and post-COVID-19. Join us for the launch of a unique, collaborative video essay intertwined with spoken word, storytelling, and musical performances.

This film is available to watch for free.

Join us for a discussion with director Firdoze Bulbulia and artists Yemurai Chaza, Lubna Kerr and Paria Goodarzi on Friday 13 November at 8.30pm live on our Facebook page.*

Artists Yemurai Chaza, Lubna Kerr and Paria Goodarzi have each created an artist responses to the film which they will share during the discussion.

This event is hosted in collaboration with Glasgow Women’s Library and the University of Glasgow as part of the Being Human Festival 2020

*It will also be recorded and uploaded to our Vimeo page within 24 hours of the event.
